In 2008 when I began my search for a stick fighting instructor, I began looking for a Filipino style school. The reason to me was quite clear. I wanted to train with the best and I knew that the Filipino stick fighters are the best and offered the best techniques. After narrowing my Internet search down to five schools the interview process was next.
I had attended a class at a school in Mi. and I enjoyed the class and the instructor but I knew from many years in the Martial Arts that I needed to check out more schools before I made my final decision. Approximately three weeks later I attended a class at the Philippine Martial Arts Institute with one of my instructors. The search was over, I had come home.  After meeting Guro Marcial and working out with him, his instructors and students I knew I had found an excellent instructor and a mentor. Guro Marcials knowledge and ability to communicate his Art to his students has given me the confidence and trust to bring my students to train with him. It is true, if you want to know how good a leader is, just look at their students. Guro Marcial is an excellent example of what a true Martial Artist is."
